Parent Participation Bond

Home games are one of the biggest revenue-generating activities for our organization. Because the FALCONS are a non-profit organization, run solely by volunteers, we depend upon multiple volunteers to organize and successfully manage a game day. The Participation Bond Program is in place as a means of scheduling our volunteer staff and insuring that enough hands are available to complete the number of tasks at hand.

The Parent Participation Bond is $250 per child and is required at the time of registration.

Typically, parents are scheduled to work 6 volunteer hours per player. For those families with multiple children, the requirement is 6 hours for the first player and 4 hours for each additional player. Most game day activities are scheduled for 2-hour increments.

There will be a volunteer sign up time scheduled sometime within the first several weeks of the season.

Typical volunteer assignments include, but are not limited to the following:

Event Set Up

Assist with set-up of concession stand and preparing food for the day under the direction of the snack shack manager.

Front Gate

Man the admission gates of the field, charge for admission, and stamp hands.

Concessions

Grill burgers and hot dogs, serve food, snacks, and drinks, and man the cash register.

50/50 Lottery

Circulate the stands (home and visitor side) and sell lottery tickets. The proceeds are then divided 50% to the winner and 50% to the Falcon organization.

Chain Gang

Work on the sidelines of the field, move the down-markers and the dial-a-down.

Event Clean Up

Collect garbage from throughout the field area, clean up the concession stand, and help breakdown and stow the field equipment.

Please note that a return of your family’s Participation Bond fee is contingent upon full participation in our two mandatory fundraisers: Calendar Raffle (see below) and Tag Day. There is a separate Uniform Bond, which is also returned at the end of the season and is contingent upon the return of your child’s equipment and/or uniform (in good condition, beyond reasonable wear-and-tear).

Please adhere to the following rules when volunteering during game day activities:

  • Be on the Hunterdon Central High School Field at least 15 minutes prior to your assigned activity.
  • There will be an attendance schedule at the concession stand and you will need to check in and be signed off by a Board Member or the Snack Shack Coordinator.
  • Perform and complete the task as directed by the Falcons staff.
